When you shop for an heirloom quality down comforter or featherbed, or for the perfect sleeping pillow, there are many things to consider. Your comforter should be just the right warmth for your climate, for your bedroom temperature, and for you. It should be large enough not only to generously cover your bed, but it should fit well inside the duvet cover that you are purchasing. Sometimes this is best done in a store that specializes in fine down products, where you can see and feel different weight comforters side-by-side, compare different down fills and downproof fabrics, and talk to experienced salespeople who know the difference. The same is true with a down pillow. Is it enough to know that a pillow is soft, medium, or firm? How do I really find a pillow that gives just the right neck and head support? We use the world’s most trusted downproof fabrics, densely woven, silky elegant, and proven to provide years of comfort, enjoyment, and use. These include fabrics made from organic cotton, silk, natural eucalyptus lyocell, and several natural blends. A number of the European mills producing fabrics for Lycella have been weaving downproof fabrics since the 1800s. Lycella products are then sewn and constructed to exacting standards, and filled only with all-European white goose fills, in your choice of quality and up to 900 fill power. Every item is individually made to order, meticulously inspected, and shipped directly from our North Carolina factory, usually within 1–2 business days. We promise that Lycella down comforters, pillows, and featherbeds are always freshly made, never filled in overseas factories, and never compressed and packed for shipment in ocean containers.
